2011 has arrived and if you're like most people you've resolved to do something better in the New Year. For many of us, this means exercising more and eating healthier . . . .
However, the New Year can be a great incentive to commit to marketing your business better. Here are a few resolutions that should help to keep you on track:
1. Always market your business. This means having business cards on you at all times - whether you're at your son or daughter's basketball game, or at the grocery store. You never know where you'll strike up a conversation with someone who is new to the horse industry and might be looking for the products or the services you offer.
2. Develop contacts with the local media. Having these contacts is the best assurance that press releases and other things that you submit will get published.
3. Donate, sponsor, or perform some other type of community service within your local community. Giving away something will come back to you ten-fold. Donors and sponsors are almost always listed on prmotional material for events that they are involved in. It's one of the most economical ways to market your business.
4. Improve customer service. Unless you are getting 100 percent in return customers, there is always more that can be done to improve the customer service your business provides.
5. Be positive about the furture. Despite the current economy people are still shopping and still buying. There are products and services that they need and use everyday, and you need to make sure that what you do for a business is one of these things and that it's competitively priced.
